Boston — Convatec has launched Cure Aqua, a ready-to-use hydrophilic intermittent catheter, in the United States and Canada as part of an expansion of its Cure catheter portfolio.
The medical products and technologies company said Cure Aqua was designed to support a more comfortable catheterization experience while simplifying daily routines for people who self-catheterize. The product was developed with input from catheter users and requires no activation step before use.
Cure Aqua features a hydrophilic coating intended to reduce friction, a no-touch handling sleeve designed to help reduce contamination risk, fire-polished eyelets for comfortable insertion, easy-open packaging and an opaque design for greater privacy.
The catheter is made without DEHP/DINP, BPA or natural rubber latex. It also includes a blue control stripe designed to help users properly orient the Coudé tip during use.
Cure Aqua is available in female, male and pediatric options.

Convatec said the launch expands the Cure catheter portfolio and gives healthcare professionals and users additional continence care options across North America.
The company also plans to launch GentleCath Air Pocket and GentleCath Air Set in Europe later this year as part of its broader product development pipeline.
