TROY, Mich. — ZIVO Bioscience has entered into a commercial-scale manufacturing agreement with Cyanotech Corporation to produce its proprietary algal biomass for the Zivolife product line, marking a key step toward global commercialization.

The partnership positions ZIVO to expand production capacity as it advances Zivolife across animal health, human nutrition, and functional ingredient markets. The company said the agreement supports anticipated demand from both existing and prospective partners worldwide.

Cyanotech, a long-established microalgae producer, will grow, cultivate, and process ZIVO’s proprietary biomass. The company operates a 96-acre production facility in Hawaii and brings more than four decades of experience in continuous microalgae cultivation.

“Securing Cyanotech as our manufacturing partner is a transformational step for ZIVO,” said John Payne, CEO and Chairman of ZIVO Bioscience. “Their decades of operational expertise, scale of production and commitment to quality provide the infrastructure we need to confidently respond to global market demand for Zivolife. We are building a reliable supply chain for our partners, which is a critical step toward enabling initial commercial revenues.”

Cyanotech’s capabilities include large-scale cultivation of microalgae species such as Spirulina and Haematococcus, along with expertise in processing for dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, and food applications. Its operations meet current good manufacturing practice standards and include third-party quality controls, FDA compliance, and GRAS certification for food-use microalgae products.

The Hawaii-based facility operates year-round in a controlled environment designed to support consistent production, with access to abundant sunlight, clean air, and filtered water.

“Cyanotech is proud to partner with ZIVO Bioscience and bring our cultivation expertise to the production of Zivolife,” said Matthew Custer, President and CEO of Cyanotech Corporation. “The agreement provides ZIVO with scalable production capacity to support initial commercial volumes, with the ability to expand as demand increases. ZIVO has developed a compelling proprietary algal biomass with strong consumer appeal, and we look forward to supporting their success.”
