SANTA CLARA, Calif. & SPRINGVILLE, Utah — OMNIVISION and ATL Medical said ATL has integrated OMNIVISION’s OVMed OH0131 image signal processor into its PREVOYANCE Complete Imaging System, enhancing image quality and performance for medical visualization applications.

The companies also issued a correction to a prior release, noting that ISO 13485 is the correct certification referenced, not ISO 13585.

The OVMed OH0131 processor is designed specifically for medical imaging and includes advanced algorithms to optimize brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and sharpness, along with noise reduction capabilities. It supports multi-image configurations and is built for use in handheld tablet consoles or camera control units.

ATL Medical’s PREVOYANCE system is a turnkey medical visualization platform that allows customers to deploy white-label imaging devices with high-quality output while reducing development time and cost. The system is commonly paired with a camera control unit for imaging, processing, and storage.

“The top challenges in medical ISPs center on delivering real-time, high-fidelity visualization while overcoming extreme environmental factors such as specular reflections, smoke, blood and shadows. Key obstacles include maintaining low-latency processing, handling high-volume data, and achieving accurate, automated segmentation and feature extraction during complex procedures,” said Ehsan Ayar, senior staff marketing manager for the medical segment at OMNIVISION.

“We are pleased to collaborate with OMNIVISION and leverage their expertise in advanced image processing for the PREVOYANCE platform,” said Mike Anderson, vice president strategy at ATL Medical. “We’ve developed an off-the-shelf CCU that can be deployed standalone or be integrated into a customer’s existing platform, simplifying their design cycle while also improving the overall performance of their solution.”

The integrated system includes a kernel board designed by OMNIVISION, which processes raw image data from sensors, and a host system developed by ATL that displays the processed images via HDMI output.

ATL Medical also provides full system integration, including optics, illumination, cabling, interconnects, distal-end fabrication, and ergonomic design, enabling original equipment manufacturers to accelerate development timelines and reduce engineering risk.

The OVMed OH0131 processor, launched in 2023, meets multiple medical and regulatory standards, including ISO 13485, RoHS, REACH, IEC 60601, and ISO 9001, and supports a range of medical image sensors and endoscopy imaging technologies.
