ACTON, Mass. — Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ: PODD) has announced the nationwide availability of Omnipod Discover, a web-based data platform designed to help people with diabetes, caregivers and healthcare professionals better understand glucose levels and insulin delivery patterns.

The platform, developed for users of Insulet’s Omnipod 5 automated insulin delivery system, converts diabetes management data into visual reports and personalized insights intended to support treatment decisions.

“The future of diabetes care is not just about generating more data, it’s about making that data meaningful,” said Dr. Trang Ly, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Insulet. “Omnipod Discover simplifies data review for Omnipod 5 users and their healthcare providers so they spend less time gathering information and more time collaborating on diabetes management.”

Omnipod Discover provides users with weekly reports delivered directly to their smartphones, highlighting glucose trends and insulin delivery information. The reports are designed to help users identify patterns and areas where adjustments to diabetes management may be beneficial.

For healthcare professionals, the platform combines an Ambulatory Glucose Profile with adjustable insulin pump settings and bolus events, allowing clinicians to review treatment data in a consolidated format.

More than 15,000 Omnipod 5 users and 1,800 healthcare professionals in the United States adopted the platform during its limited market release, according to Insulet.

Omnipod Discover is also available in Spain, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

“In today’s AID (automated insulin delivery) era, clinicians need actionable insights, not more data. Omnipod Discover brings key diabetes metrics and insights together in a streamlined, easy-to-use workflow that supports clinical decision-making and patient conversations,” said Dr. Martin Sarkar, an endocrinologist at EndoCARE Diabetes & Wellness Center in Frederick, Maryland.

Insulet also reported real-world findings involving Omnipod Discover users at the American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions in New Orleans in June.

According to the company, use of the platform was associated with improvements in time in range, a measure of how long a person’s glucose levels remain within a recommended target range. Approximately 32% of users experienced an increase of at least three percentage points in time in range, which the company described as clinically meaningful.

The findings suggest that greater engagement with diabetes management data may help users improve glucose control, although the reported association does not establish that the platform caused the improvements.

Omnipod Discover is now available to all Omnipod 5 users across the United States. Healthcare professionals can enroll through onboarding and training provided by Insulet’s Omnipod sales representatives.
