MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Hologic and Inpeco S.A. announced a co-marketing partnership to expand molecular laboratory automation in Europe by combining Hologic’s Panther System with Inpeco’s FlexLab X automation platform.

The partnership aims to help diagnostic laboratories improve efficiency, increase testing capacity and enhance sample tracking as demand for molecular testing continues to grow.

Inpeco’s recently launched FlexLab X system allows laboratories to connect multiple Panther Systems, integrating Hologic’s automated molecular diagnostics technology into larger laboratory automation environments.

The combined technologies are designed to streamline testing workflows, support higher sample volumes and improve traceability throughout the diagnostic process, from sample preparation to final analysis.

“Through our co-marketing partnership with Inpeco, we are helping molecular laboratories take the next step in automation by connecting Hologic’s proven Panther System with Inpeco’s advanced automation technology,” said Frédérique Gallis, vice president of International Sales and Marketing at Hologic.

“Together, we can help customers streamline workflows, increase throughput and enhance pre- and post-analytical sample traceability. This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering scalable solutions that support laboratories as they manage growing testing demands and prepare for the future of molecular diagnostics in an increasingly competitive environment,” Gallis added.

The Panther System is a fully automated molecular diagnostics platform designed to support laboratory testing, while FlexLab X provides an open automation system capable of connecting multiple instruments and managing laboratory workflows.

Riccardo Triunfo, chief executive officer of Inpeco, said the partnership reflects the growing importance of automation in diagnostic laboratories.

“At Inpeco, we see automation as a key driver of the future of laboratories, through fully automated, touchless and traceable diagnostic processes that begin outside the lab and extend inside,” Triunfo said.

“As molecular testing expands, laboratories require solutions that can manage increasing complexity while maintaining performance and reliability,” he added.

Inpeco, which has more than 30 years of experience in laboratory automation, develops systems designed to reduce manual handling and improve efficiency in diagnostic testing.

The companies said the collaboration will help European molecular laboratories adopt scalable automation technologies while maintaining reliability and supporting growing diagnostic testing demands.
