LAUSANNE, Switzerland — Timeline said a U.S. federal court has permanently barred 19 online sellers from marketing or selling supplements falsely advertised as containing Urolithin A and awarded the Swiss life-sciences company more than $5.3 million in damages.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted default judgments and permanent injunctions against the sellers after they failed to appear or respond to a lawsuit filed by Timeline, formally known as Amazentis SA, and its U.S. subsidiary, Timeline Longevity, Inc.
The order was entered July 15 by Judge Myong J. Joun in Amazentis SA et al. v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule “A,” Case No. 1:25-cv-12913-MJJ.
Timeline filed the lawsuit in October 2025 against 30 defendants operating online storefronts and private drop-shipping stores. The company alleged that the sellers marketed products as containing Urolithin A even though the supplements contained either no detectable amount of the ingredient or substantially less than stated on their labels.
Some defendants also allegedly used Timeline’s Mitopure® trademark without authorization to promote the products. Mitopure is Timeline’s branded form of Urolithin A.
According to Timeline, independent laboratory testing found that products sold under the online brands contained no detectable Urolithin A or only a fraction of the advertised amount. The company also alleged that sellers made false claims that their products were manufactured in the United States, independently tested and certified, or vegan.
Timeline said some defendants provided false addresses on packaging and online listings and included undisclosed filler ingredients in the supplements. The company previously reached stipulated judgments with defendants that appeared in the case.
“We are very pleased with the Court’s order that protects consumers and innovators like Timeline from bad actors who sell fraudulent products and misappropriate intellectual property,” said Chris Rinsch, PhD, Co-Founder and President of Timeline. “Timeline has invested over 18 years and more than $50 million USD building the clinical evidence for our proprietary Mitopure® Urolithin A. Timeline will continue to vigilantly protect the integrity of the market. We will not hesitate to pursue available legal remedies against those who put consumers at risk and exploit our intellectual property without authorization.”
The permanent injunction prohibits the 19 defendants and anyone acting with them from importing, manufacturing, marketing, advertising, distributing or selling products represented as containing Urolithin A.
The court ordered individual defendants to pay damages ranging from $500 to more than $2.7 million, based on the extent of their sales. Awards against several defendants were tripled as enhanced damages, bringing the total judgment to more than $5.3 million.
Timeline said the case is part of its broader enforcement program intended to combat counterfeit and mislabeled Urolithin A products, protect consumers and defend the research and intellectual property supporting its products.
