Pembroke, Mass. — Everis Medical has acquired Hood Laboratories, a Pembroke, Mass.-based medical technology company that makes ENT, airway and thoracic devices.

Everis, a medical device company focused on otolaryngology, head and neck surgery and adjacent surgical specialties, said the deal expands its specialized product portfolio and gives the company a meaningful entry into airway management.

Hood Laboratories, founded in 1962, manufactures devices used in ENT, airway, thoracic surgery, interventional pulmonology and speech therapy. Its products include T-tubes used in tracheal stenosis, along with devices for rhinology and laryngology.

“By bringing together our complementary products, we are strengthening our ability to serve clinicians with comprehensive solutions from diagnosis and intervention to post-operative management, ultimately improving patient outcomes,” said Kevin McLeod, founder and CEO of Everis Medical.

The acquisition is Everis Medical’s fifth strategic deal since 2019 and continues the company’s expansion in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. Its previous acquisitions include the Cook Medical otolaryngology/head and neck surgery product line, the Shaw Scalpel from Hemostatix, the STIC Intra-Compartmental Pressure Monitor and the T/Pump Localized Temperature Therapy System.

“We are excited to join Everis Medical and align with an organization that shares our commitment to innovation and patient care,” said Lewis Marten, CEO at Hood Laboratories. “Together, we see significant opportunities to expand the impact of our technologies.”

The companies said customers of both organizations should see a smooth transition, with continued access to products, service and support.

Everis Medical is based in Kalamazoo, Mich., and is backed by Shore Capital Partners.
