ATLANTA, Ga. — The LifeLink Foundation has named Dr. Clark Kensinger as Chief Medical Officer, a move aimed at strengthening its clinical leadership and advancing its mission in organ donation.

Dr. Kensinger is a multi-organ transplant surgeon and board-certified intensivist specializing in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation. He currently serves as Surgical Director of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation at the Piedmont Transplant Institute.

He has worked with LifeLink since 2021 as a Medical Director and played a key role in developing the LifeLink of Georgia Donor Care Unit at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, an initiative designed to improve coordination between hospital teams and organ procurement professionals while enhancing care for donors and their families.

“Dr. Kensinger brings extraordinary expertise and dedication to our mission,” said Kelly Cullen, Chief Operating Officer of LifeLink Foundation. “His leadership is grounded in compassion and an unrelenting focus on care. This expanded role will help align our clinical teams across West Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to expand best practices and further develop our research and innovation efforts.”

In his new role, Kensinger will oversee LifeLink’s Medical Directors and Associate Medical Directors across its service regions. He will also work closely with hospital partners and internal teams to support research initiatives and expand education around the safety and impact of organ donation.

“It has been a true honor and privilege to work with and for LifeLink over the last several years,” Kensinger said. “I am extremely excited for this new opportunity to continue building on the strong foundation in place, to advance our shared commitment to honor donor families and the lives their loved ones make possible through the gift of organ donation.”

LifeLink Foundation works with hospitals, transplant centers, and communities to facilitate organ and tissue donation while supporting donor families.
