MIT Technology Review Names 10 Climate Tech Companies to Watch in 2026

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — MIT Technology Review has released its annual list of 10 Climate Tech Companies to Watch for 2026, recognizing businesses developing technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, address climate risks and accelerate the transition to cleaner energy.

The list highlights early-stage startups and multinational corporations working on innovations in energy storage, nuclear power, transportation, manufacturing and environmental protection.

MIT Technology Review’s editorial team evaluated dozens of companies worldwide, drawing on insights from researchers, investors, analysts and academics to identify businesses demonstrating significant potential to address major climate challenges.

Following months of research and evaluation, the publication selected 10 companies developing technologies that could help reshape energy production, industrial processes, transportation and climate resilience.

Among this year’s honorees is Energy Dome, which is developing energy storage systems designed to support electricity grids and improve the reliability of renewable energy.

Also recognized is WeLion, a developer of semi-solid-state batteries for electric vehicles, and WaveSave, which produces portable rubber dams designed to provide flood protection.

The selected companies represent a broad range of technologies, including clean energy generation, nuclear fission, advanced batteries and infrastructure designed to withstand extreme weather events.

According to MIT Technology Review, the annual list aims to identify companies whose technologies show promise in addressing some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

The publication has also released detailed profiles examining each company’s technology, development progress and potential impact on climate change.
