Waltham, Mass. — Veralto Corporation said its near-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, or SBTi.
The company said the validation supports its climate strategy and confirms that its targets meet SBTi’s science-based decarbonization criteria.
Under the newly validated targets, Veralto aims to have 60% of its suppliers establish science-based emissions targets by 2030. The company also plans to reduce Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions associated with the use of sold products by 61% per dollar of value added by 2033, compared with a 2024 baseline.
Veralto had previously committed to reducing combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6% by 2033 from a 2023 baseline.
“Veralto’s climate targets reflect our commitment to significantly reduce emissions from our businesses over time,” said Jennifer L. Honeycutt, President and Chief Executive Officer of Veralto. “By delivering on these climate targets, our businesses will provide increased value for customers and end-users while helping to protect the planet for future generations.”
The company said the targets are aligned with a 1.5-degree Celsius climate scenario and account for continued business growth.
Since 2023, Veralto said it has reduced total Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from its operations by 22%.
The reductions have been driven by increased use of renewable energy, greater adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles in its service fleet, reduced fossil fuel use and energy-efficiency initiatives.
“Driven by our culture of operational rigor and continuous improvement, we have made steady progress on our targets since setting our Scope 1+2 goals,” said Surekha Trivedi, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Sustainability, Veralto. “Today’s announcement reflects our team’s unwavering commitment to advancing a sustainable future.”
