Billerica, Mass. — Access Vascular, Inc. has received an Innovative Technology contract from Vizient for its HydroMID® midline catheter, the company announced.
The contract was awarded following a review of the device by hospital experts serving on a Vizient client-led council. Vizient’s Innovative Technology Program evaluates products for their potential to improve clinical care, patient safety, healthcare worker safety or healthcare operations.
Access Vascular develops vascular access devices designed to reduce catheter-related complications. Its HydroMID® catheter uses a proprietary hydrogel material intended to help address complications such as thrombosis and occlusion.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared HydroMID® in 2025 with an anti-thrombogenic indication.

Through its Innovative Technology Program, Vizient allows client-led councils and task forces to evaluate products for potential healthcare innovation and, when appropriate, award contracts outside the normal competitive bidding cycle.
