Austin, Texas — Natera and Angiex have entered a collaboration to use Natera’s Signatera test to assess treatment response in a Phase I clinical trial of Angiex’s investigational cancer therapy AGX101.
Angiex, a privately held biotechnology company, is developing a portfolio of Nuclear-Delivered Antibody-Drug Conjugates, or ND-ADCs. AGX101 is an investigational TM4SF1-directed ND-ADC designed to bind TM4SF1 and deliver a cytotoxic payload to tumor cells and tumor-associated endothelial cells.
The dual-targeting approach is intended to attack both cancer cells and the blood vessels that support tumors.
Angiex is currently enrolling patients with unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors in the Phase I trial.
Under the collaboration, patients will undergo longitudinal testing with Natera’s Signatera assay to measure circulating tumor DNA, or ctDNA, and evaluate its potential for monitoring response to AGX101.
Signatera provides a personalized measure of ctDNA that may complement radiologic imaging. The companies said repeated ctDNA measurements could provide additional information about treatment response, particularly when imaging shows structural or metabolic changes that are difficult to interpret.
