Boston — Carna Health, an AI-enabled digital health company focused on cardio-kidney-metabolic care, has expanded its leadership team with several strategic advisors as the company prepares for U.S. market entry and further global growth.
The appointments bring experience across artificial intelligence, digital health, public health, business development and healthcare technology. The expansion follows partnerships with Siemens Healthineers and Renalytix and comes as Carna Health works toward its goal of screening 100 million people worldwide by 2030.
Justin Nguyen has joined the company as Chief Product Officer, while Jose Pereyra will join Carna Health’s Board of Directors.
Nguyen has more than a decade of experience in digital health, population health and enterprise technology. He previously held senior product roles at Lumeris, Atlas Health, Intelligent Medical Objects, Surescripts and IBM, where he worked on AI-enabled care solutions, interoperability platforms and clinical decision-support tools.
Pereyra is a venture investor and strategic advisor with experience in digital health, AI-driven diagnostics, digital asset platforms and business development.
Carna Health also appointed Marcia Favale; Ami Bhatt, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at WHOOP; David Goldfarb, M.D., Clinical Chief of Nephrology at NYU Langone Health; Prabir Roy-Chaudhury, M.D., Ph.D., FASN; Tim Fitzpatrick, Founder of Signals Group; Kaye Vitug, Board Member at Lumina Foundation; and Paula LeClair, MBA, MHCDS, as strategic advisors.
Bhatt, a cardiologist and digital health expert, previously served as inaugural Chair of the FDA’s Digital Health Advisory Committee and Chief Innovation Officer at the American College of Cardiology. She will advise Carna Health on digital health innovation and cardiovascular population health.
Goldfarb, Professor of Medicine and Physiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, will provide guidance on U.S. kidney care and clinical standards. Roy-Chaudhury, Co-Director of the University of North Carolina Kidney Center, will advise on population health screening and predictive analytics.
Fitzpatrick will focus on market intelligence and growth opportunities in kidney and cardiometabolic care, while Vitug, a former CFO of Roche Diagnostics North America, will advise on commercial partnerships and business strategy. LeClair will provide guidance on commercialization, market access and healthcare technology adoption.
Favale, who has more than 30 years of experience in finance, investment and international business development, will support Carna Health’s growth strategy, investor engagement and expansion into new markets.
