CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– Deep Genomics has appointed Thong Q. Le as Chair of its Board of Directors as the company advances its artificial intelligence-driven drug discovery platform and internal pipeline.
Le joined the company’s board in 2025 and has more than 20 years of experience investing in the life sciences sector.
“Since joining our Board in 2025, Thong has been a trusted advisor and a strong advocate for our vision,” said Brendan Frey, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Deep Genomics. “He brings a fresh energy and deep experience supporting the life sciences industry to the role, making him exceptionally well positioned to lead our Board as Deep Genomics continues to advance AI-driven drug discovery.”
Le also serves as Investment Director and Managing Partner of the Strategic Investment Fund for the Gates Foundation and as Chairman of Accelerator Life Science Partners, a venture capital firm focused on building life sciences companies.
As Board Chair, Le will help guide Deep Genomics as it moves its internal drug pipeline toward clinical development, expands strategic collaborations and strengthens its position in AI, genomics and drug discovery.
“I’m honored to take on the role of Chair of the Board of Directors at such an exciting time for Deep Genomics and the broader TechBio industry,” Le said. “Deep Genomics has built a unique platform and world-class team leading at the intersection of AI and biology. I look forward to continuing my work alongside the company as it advances its mission to transform how medicines are discovered and developed.”
Le succeeds Chip Baird, who served as Board Chair for the past three years.
Baird will remain with Deep Genomics as a Non-Executive Director and will serve as Chair of the Audit Committee.
