WALTHAM, Mass. — Mobile Heartbeat has launched its fourth annual National Nurses Week recognition program, honoring nurses across its customer community for their work in patient care, care team collaboration and clinical leadership.
The Waltham-based company, which provides enterprise clinical communication and collaboration technology, said the program highlights peer-nominated nurses who are helping health systems improve communication, reduce workflow friction and keep patients at the center of care.
“Nurses today are being asked to do more with less, managing rising patient acuity while navigating a growing number of technologies and interruptions,” said Dr. Annabaker Garber, RN, PhD, Chief Clinical Officer at Mobile Heartbeat. “We consistently hear about the cognitive burden and alert fatigue that can pull focus away from patient care. This campaign is about recognizing nurses who not only deliver exceptional care, but who help their teams cut through that complexity and keep patients at the center of everything they do.”
Mobile Heartbeat said health systems are increasingly focused on improving communication, prioritizing workflows and strengthening interoperability across systems. Nurses are central to that shift, helping organizations adopt tools and practices that reduce interruptions, improve coordination and ensure critical information reaches the right person at the right time.
This year’s honorees include Ashley McAdams, RN, Informatics Nurse II at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center; Madison Carrara, BSN, RN, Senior IT Specialty Analyst in Nursing Informatics at Sentara Health; and Miquette McMahon, RN, of Firelands Regional Medical Center.
McAdams was recognized for her work supporting clinical informatics across north central Pennsylvania, including hands-on training, frontline rounding, go-live readiness and workflow improvements. Mobile Heartbeat said she is known for turning complex clinical workflows into clear, actionable steps for care teams.
Carrara was honored for leading a nursing-driven digital transformation across Sentara Health, including the rollout of mobile communication technologies across 12 hospitals. Her work helped streamline bedside workflows and improve care team collaboration.
McMahon was recognized for her empathy, patient advocacy and service beyond the bedside. She is also the founder of Teach Haiti, a nonprofit that expands access to education for students.
Mobile Heartbeat also recognized three nurse leaders from HCA Healthcare: Seth Ard, MSN, RN, NI-BC, Director of Clinical Informatics; Katiusca Conforme, MSN, RN, Director of Clinical Informatics; and Sheryl Gillespie, MBA, BSN, RN, Director of Clinical Informatics.
Ard was honored for leading implementation of a cloud-native communication platform in a high-acuity hospital setting. Conforme was recognized for her work in workflow optimization, technology adoption and clinician empowerment. Gillespie was honored for initiatives involving electronic health record optimization, clinical decision support and data-driven care improvement.
Mobile Heartbeat said each honoree was nominated for a demonstrated commitment to improving communication, supporting peers and strengthening patient outcomes in high-pressure clinical environments.
The company’s Banyan platform is designed to help care teams streamline communication, reduce alarm fatigue and coordinate care more efficiently. Mobile Heartbeat said it will spotlight the honorees throughout National Nurses Week across its digital channels.
