ConcertAI Names Shawn W. Bates General Manager of Commercial Solutions

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — ConcertAI has appointed Shawn W. Bates as general manager of Commercial Solutions, a role in which he will lead growth and expansion of the company’s commercial business serving life sciences customers.

Cambridge-based ConcertAI, which provides real-world healthcare intelligence for oncology and other complex diseases, said Bates will oversee strategy for scaling the Commercial Solutions business, including its recently launched Cadence Suite. The platform is designed to streamline patient journey management by identifying friction earlier in the process.

Bates will also work to align sales, product, delivery and customer success teams around shared performance goals, with a focus on execution and product adoption.

Bates has nearly 30 years of commercial and general management experience across artificial intelligence, software, real-world data and life sciences. ConcertAI said he has led global commercial organizations totaling more than $280 million for companies in life sciences and healthcare technology.

His experience includes real-world evidence, health economics and outcomes research, market access, medical affairs, drug development, regulatory science and commercialization.

Bates most recently served as chief revenue officer at ProductLife Group, where he led commercial functions and business unit leadership across product development, regulatory solutions, life cycle maintenance, medical and real-world evidence, market access, and digital and AI innovation.

He previously served as chief commercial officer at OM1, leading commercial strategy, sales, marketing, operations, strategic alliances, pricing and contracting for the AI and real-world data company. Earlier in his career, he held senior commercial leadership roles at Certara, IQVIA, Awen International, Dentsply Sirona and Eli Lilly.

Bates began his career as a U.S. Army Intelligence officer, serving nearly a decade and leaving with the rank of captain. He holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Science Engineering from The Citadel and an MBA, and is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He has also served in advisory roles for the Cancer Research Institute and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
