WALTHAM, Mass. — Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. reported a 9% increase in third-quarter revenue to $12.14 billion, supported by strong organic growth, higher earnings and continued investments in new technologies and strategic partnerships.

The company said revenue for the quarter ended September 26, 2026, increased from $11.12 billion in the same period last year. Organic revenue grew 6%.

GAAP diluted earnings per share rose 9% to $4.64, while adjusted earnings per share increased 15% to $6.68.

“We are very pleased to deliver another excellent quarter, with outstanding financial performance on both the top and bottom line,” said Marc N. Casper, chairman and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific. “We’re advancing our proven growth strategy, which is resonating strongly with our customers, and our PPI Business System is enabling outstanding execution across the company.”

GAAP operating income increased 17% to $2.26 billion, with operating margin improving to 18.6% from 17.4% a year earlier.

Adjusted operating income climbed 15% to $2.97 billion, while adjusted operating margin increased to 24.5% from 23.3% in the third quarter of 2025.

During the quarter, Thermo Fisher introduced several products across its analytical instruments, diagnostics and life sciences businesses.

The company launched the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Isora mass spectrometer, its first Orbitrap system designed for isotope ratio analysis, to support environmental and life sciences research. It also introduced the Thermo Scientific EMPAD G2 electron detector, designed to improve electron microscopy characterization of advanced materials used in electronics, memory and energy technologies.

In diagnostics, Thermo Fisher launched the FDA-cleared EliA CTD 13 Screen, an autoimmune test designed to help identify systemic connective tissue diseases, including lupus.

The company also introduced the Ion 560 Chip for its Ion GeneStudio S5 sequencing platform, offering nearly twice the sequencing capacity of its predecessor to support growing demand for genomic profiling in oncology research.

Thermo Fisher expanded its partnerships and operational capabilities during the quarter, including launching Precure with Mayo Clinic. The initiative will combine data from more than one million patient samples with Thermo Fisher’s proteomics technologies to advance research into disease progression, earlier detection and precision medicine.

The company also opened its first AI-Automation Innovation Center in South Korea, bringing together analytical technologies, automation and artificial intelligence to help customers accelerate research and development.

In the United States, Thermo Fisher opened a highly automated distribution center in Kentucky to improve supply chain efficiency and delivery capabilities for customers across North America.

Thermo Fisher also completed the previously announced divestiture of its microbiology business as part of its capital deployment strategy.

“Looking ahead, we’re well positioned to deliver an excellent 2026 as we continue to drive long-term value creation for all of our stakeholders and build an even brighter future for our company,” Casper said.

The company said it would provide updated financial guidance for 2026 during its quarterly earnings conference call.

Thermo Fisher noted that its adjusted earnings and organic revenue growth figures are non-GAAP financial measures, which exclude certain items from the company’s reported results.
