BOSTON — Foundation Medicine, a precision medicine company specializing in cancer diagnostics and genomic testing, announced Thursday the appointment of Dr. Chadi Nabhan as chief medical officer, effective November 16, 2026.
Nabhan will oversee the company’s global medical affairs and clinical development programs, with a focus on expanding the use of precision oncology technologies to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment.
He brings more than 20 years of experience in clinical oncology, academic research, genomics, healthcare technology and executive leadership.
Most recently, Nabhan served as chief medical officer at Ryght, where he focused on integrating artificial intelligence into clinical trial operations and research site selection.
Previously, he was senior vice president and chairman of the Precision Oncology Alliance at Caris Life Sciences, where he helped expand a collaborative oncology research network aimed at advancing personalized cancer care.
Earlier in his career, Nabhan served as executive vice president and chief medical officer at Aptitude Health and vice president and chief medical officer at Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Nabhan to Foundation Medicine,” said Vera Grossmann, interim CEO and chief operating officer at Foundation Medicine.
“His unique blend of clinical oncology expertise, corporate leadership and deep understanding of advanced digital health technologies makes him the ideal leader to drive our medical strategy forward. Chadi’s vision will be instrumental as we continue to deliver high-quality tests and solutions to transform cancer care throughout a patient’s experience,” Grossmann added.
Foundation Medicine develops comprehensive genomic profiling tests designed to identify genetic alterations in tumors and help physicians select targeted therapies and other treatment options based on a patient’s cancer profile.
The company’s approach to precision oncology uses molecular information to support personalized treatment decisions and advance cancer research.
“Foundation Medicine pioneered precision oncology, setting the standard for comprehensive genomic profiling and helping bring personalized cancer care into clinical practice,” Nabhan said.
“I am honored to join a company with such a strong scientific legacy and commitment to patients. I look forward to working with this exceptional team to advance innovation, generate meaningful clinical evidence and expand the impact of precision medicine across the cancer care continuum,” he added.
In addition to his corporate leadership experience, Nabhan previously served as an associate professor of medicine and medical director of the Clinical Outpatient Cancer Center at the University of Chicago Medicine.
He also held leadership positions at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where he was involved in clinical oncology and patient care.
Throughout his career, Nabhan has contributed to more than 400 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, research abstracts and book chapters covering oncology and related medical topics.
His appointment comes as Foundation Medicine continues to advance genomic testing and precision oncology technologies intended to help healthcare providers identify targeted treatment options and improve cancer care.
