MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Hologic announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Reveal Genomics, a Barcelona-based precision oncology company developing genomic diagnostic tests designed to help physicians personalize breast cancer treatment.
The acquisition would expand Hologic’s oncology diagnostics portfolio by adding Reveal Genomics’ HER2DX test, which helps guide treatment decisions for patients with HER2-positive breast cancer.
Reveal Genomics’ testing technologies complement Hologic’s existing oncology diagnostics, including the Breast Cancer Index (BCI) test, which helps determine whether women with hormone receptor-positive early-stage breast cancer may benefit from extended endocrine therapy.
Hologic said the combination would broaden its ability to support personalized treatment decisions for women diagnosed with different types of breast cancer.
“Reveal Genomics’ portfolio is a strong strategic complement to our existing oncology offering within Diagnostic Solutions and would allow us to support even more women diagnosed with breast cancer,” said Vitor Rocha, CEO of Diagnostic Solutions at Hologic.

Reveal Genomics develops genomic tests that analyze tumor characteristics to help physicians make more informed treatment decisions for breast cancer patients.

The acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval in Spain and other customary closing conditions. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
