Beverly, Mass. — HighRes and Involve Data have announced a partnership aimed at helping large pharmaceutical and biotech companies better connect laboratory automation systems with enterprise data, analytics and artificial intelligence platforms.
The partnership combines HighRes’ lab automation technology and Cellario orchestration platform with Involve Data’s expertise in data architecture, AI and machine learning strategy.
The companies said many life sciences organizations have invested separately in enterprise digital systems, including cloud platforms, electronic lab notebooks and laboratory information management systems, as well as in laboratory instruments, robotics, liquid handlers and automated work cells.
However, those systems often remain disconnected, creating fragmented data, longer turnaround times and difficulties using laboratory information across sites and enterprise systems.
“Our customers have automated the bench and modernized their data stack, but the two were never designed to run as one system,” said Josh Robertson, VP Support, HighRes. “As AI accelerates discovery, the physical lab becomes the constraint. This partnership lets us help customers connect both ends into a single, faster loop.”
HighRes provides modular automation systems, integrated laboratory instruments and Cellario OS, which manages automated workflows and captures related data and context.
Involve Data will contribute data architecture, semantic data frameworks and AI and machine learning capabilities designed to make laboratory data comparable and usable across an organization.
Under joint engagements, the companies plan to assess laboratory operations across four areas: instruments, orchestration, data infrastructure and analytics. The goal is to identify gaps affecting AI readiness and laboratory turnaround times.
“The organizations gaining real value from AI are the ones that put their data architecture in order first,” said Bill Goode, Managing Partner, Involve Data. “By combining our data and AI strategy with HighRes’s orchestration and instruments, we can give a customer one coherent plan across the full stack instead of two partial answers.”
The companies also released a jointly published whitepaper, “The Connected Lab,” which introduces a Digital Lab Maturity Model designed to help organizations evaluate their laboratory infrastructure and plan future digital transformation efforts.
