Cambridge, Mass. — Enveric Biosciences has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a patent application covering compounds in its EVM401 Series of non-hallucinogenic, mescaline-derived drug candidates.
The biotechnology company is developing neuroplastogenic small-molecule therapeutics for psychiatric and neurological disorders.
The patent application, titled “Substituted N-Propylamine Fused Heterocyclic Mescaline Derivatives,” marks the third U.S. patent allowance for the EVM401 Series. Once issued, the patent is expected to provide composition-of-matter protection for a group of proprietary benzodioxole analogs designed as non-hallucinogenic neuroplastogens.
Enveric said the compounds are being explored for potential treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and other psychiatric and neurological conditions.

The company said its proprietary analogs include structural modifications to the benzodioxole ring that distinguish them from methylone and other known molecules.
According to Enveric, those modifications may also increase lipophilicity, improve penetration across the blood-brain barrier and enhance metabolic stability, potentially supporting oral administration while maintaining the compounds’ neuroplastogenic properties.
