Boston — WHOOP has expanded its women’s health offerings through an integration with Natural Cycles, giving eligible members access to a one-year subscription to the FDA-cleared, hormone-free birth control app.
The offer is available to WHOOP members who are new to Natural Cycles and use compatible WHOOP devices. Members can automatically share overnight skin temperature data with the Natural Cycles app to receive personalized fertility information and daily fertility status.
Natural Cycles is a Class II medical device that uses biomarker data, including temperature and heart rate information, to identify fertile and non-fertile days. The app is designed to help users prevent pregnancy without hormones and also includes modes for pregnancy planning, pregnancy, postpartum care and perimenopause.
WHOOP said the integration combines continuous physiological data from its wearable devices with Natural Cycles’ fertility technology.
Women are among the fastest-growing groups within WHOOP’s membership base, with female membership increasing 111 percent year over year, the company said.
“This partnership represents a commitment to supporting women’s health through clinically backed, actionable data,” said Ami Bhatt, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at WHOOP.
“By integrating with the NC° app, we are providing our members with a seamless way to access personalized reproductive health insights, expanding WHOOP beyond performance into everyday health,” Bhatt said.
The integration allows users to rely on WHOOP’s overnight temperature readings rather than manually entering temperature information into the Natural Cycles app.
“Integrating with WHOOP removes friction from the experience by allowing members to use the wearable they already rely on to automatically capture overnight skin temperature used by the NC° app to determine daily fertility status,” said Magda Armbruster, Ph.D., Vice President of Product at Natural Cycles.
“It’s another step toward making hormone-free birth control fit more naturally into everyday life,” Armbruster said.
The membership benefit includes a 12-month Natural Cycles subscription for eligible new users, automatic overnight skin temperature sharing and access to fertility and reproductive health features through the app.
The integration is currently available to users with WHOOP MG and WHOOP 5.0 devices.
WHOOP and Natural Cycles said they will continue to apply privacy and data security protections to sensitive health information shared through the integration.
