Billerica, Mass. — Quanterix Corporation has appointed healthcare executive Jim Gute as Chief Commercial Officer as the company looks to expand its diagnostics business and accelerate growth in its commercial operations.
Gute brings about 20 years of senior commercial leadership experience in healthcare and information technology, including roles at GE Healthcare and Exact Sciences. He will be based at Quanterix’s headquarters in Billerica.

Cunningham said Gute will focus on expanding Quanterix’s installed customer base and increasing adoption of its technologies, including ultra-sensitive protein detection in blood and high-plex spatial analysis in tissue for translational research and diagnostics.
Gute most recently served as Senior Vice President and Commercial Manager for General Screening at Exact Sciences. Before that, he was General Manager of the company’s Western Region.
He previously spent 18 years at GE Healthcare, holding a series of increasingly senior positions, including President. His experience has included managing commercial organizations and developing strategies aimed at improving performance, efficiency and costs.
Gute holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Cleveland State University.
“I’m very excited to lead the commercial organization at Quanterix at this key moment when the company is preparing to ramp up its diagnostics business and re-energize its commercial activities to support its differentiated offerings in ultra-sensitive biomarker testing and spatial analysis,” Gute said.
He added that the company sees opportunities to expand its business while supporting improved health outcomes, particularly in Alzheimer’s disease.
