Boston — Tolion Health AI said it has appointed Professor Josef Šivic, PhD, as chief strategy officer to help accelerate the company’s work in AI-driven preventive brain health.
Tolion, a digital health company developing AI-powered solutions for personalized, predictive and preventive brain-health guidance, said Šivic will help strengthen its artificial intelligence and scientific capabilities.
Šivic is recognized for his work in artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning. In the new role, he will help guide Tolion’s long-term technical and scientific strategy as the company continues to develop its Tolion Brain Coach app and related AI-driven brain health platform.
“2026 has been a transformative year for Tolion, marked by the U.S. launch of the second-generation of the Tolion Brain Coach app, successful fundraising, and expanded infrastructure in the U.S. and Europe. As we continue to commercialize and enhance our flagship product, Josef’s appointment reflects our commitment to combining breakthrough science and technology to advance preventive brain health,” said Martin Tolar, MD, PhD, founder and executive chairman of Tolion Health AI. “Josef brings exceptional engineering and scientific expertise that positions Tolion for its next phase of growth. He has already been a trusted partner in contributing to strategic planning and product analysis with our AI team. In his new role, Josef will help shape Tolion’s long-term technical and scientific vision, serve as a collaborative force multiplier, prototype early concepts with the team, and provide strategic guidance across the company to keep us at the forefront of AI-driven brain health.”
Šivic was recently appointed full professor of computer science and artificial intelligence at the Czech Technical University in Prague by Czech President Petr Pavel. He leads the Intelligent Machine Perception Research Group at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics and serves as director of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems Unit Prague.
He earned his PhD from the University of Oxford in 2006, completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT CSAIL and spent more than a decade at Inria Paris, where he became Directeur de Recherche. His honors include an ERC Advanced Grant, the 2023 Czech AI Award and the 2025 Ordre des Palmes Académiques.
Tolion said Šivic has already helped shape the next generation of Tolion Brain Coach, the company’s AI-driven mobile app focused on brain health, longevity and Alzheimer’s and dementia prevention.
“The question is no longer whether AI can help protect the brain, but whether we are ready to act before symptoms appear,” said Josef Šivic, PhD, chief strategy officer of Tolion Health AI. “I am excited to join the team and help advance Tolion’s vision of combining AI, personal data from wearables to blood biomarkers, and deep neuroscience expertise to change the trajectory of Alzheimer’s and dementia. The science and technology are ready, and Tolion has built the products and platform to bring them together for the people who need them most.”
The Tolion Brain Coach app is available free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The company said the app integrates wearable data through Apple Health and Google Health Connect to provide personalized brain-health guidance based on scientific evidence.
