WALTHAM, Mass. — Revvity Inc. said it is developing a next-generation automated platform designed to help large clinical laboratories conduct high-volume testing for latent tuberculosis.
The T-SPOT A201 platform is being engineered to support the performance characteristics of the company’s T-SPOT.TB assay while providing a more automated and scalable laboratory workflow.
Revvity said the system will be capable of processing up to 384 samples per instrument during an eight-hour shift, with about 45 seconds of hands-on time required per sample.
The platform builds on the company’s Auto-Pure 2400 liquid handler and is intended for laboratories managing significant testing demand from immigration screening, evaluations before immunosuppressive treatment and public health programs.
Tuberculosis remains a major global health challenge, making accurate and timely testing important for treatment decisions and disease-control efforts.
“The T-SPOT A201 automation platform represents a significant step forward in making the benefits of T-SPOT.TB testing accessible at scale,” said Steven Hart, Vice President and General Manager of Infectious Disease Diagnostics at Revvity. “Our development program is focused on delivering a solution that gives high-volume clinical labs the performance, workflow efficiency, and competitive economics they need.”
Revvity said the platform is designed to expand its automation portfolio and support clinical laboratories with a range of testing-volume requirements.
The company plans to release additional studies evaluating the performance of its automation systems in the coming months.
The T-SPOT A201 remains under development and is targeted for launch in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
