NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Radiology Partners has appointed Matt Peterson as President of RP Clinical Services and named Krishna Nallamshetty, M.D., as its full-time Chief Operating Officer, effective July 20.

Nallamshetty will also serve as Interim Chief Medical Officer while RP Clinical Services searches for a permanent successor in that role.

The company said the appointments combine Peterson’s experience operating large healthcare organizations with Nallamshetty’s background as a radiologist, physician executive and healthcare operator.

“Matt and Krishna bring complementary strengths that are important to the next phase of RP Clinical Services,” Whitney said. “Matt brings the strategic and operating experience needed to lead large, complex healthcare organizations at scale and drive growth and innovation. Krishna brings the perspective of a radiologist, physician leader and operator who understands how clinical priorities and operational execution must work together. This leadership structure reflects our commitment to strengthening performance, supporting our physicians and teammates, deepening our client partnerships and continuing to advance our mission to transform radiology.”

As President, Peterson will oversee strategy and execution across RP Clinical Services’ national organization. His responsibilities will include operational performance, physician and employee support, client relationships and patient care.

Peterson joins Radiology Partners from Universal Health Services, where he served as Executive Vice President and President of the Behavioral Health Division. He led strategy, operations and growth across more than 350 facilities in 39 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.

Before joining Universal Health Services, Peterson spent 12 years at UnitedHealth Group. His positions included Senior Vice President and Divisional Chief Operating Officer at Optum, along with other senior roles involving managed care, healthcare services, technology and large-scale provider and payer operations.

Peterson also served for more than 34 years in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, retiring as a Brigadier General. In his most recent military role, he advised senior Air Force medical leaders on the operation of a globally integrated healthcare delivery system serving millions of beneficiaries.

“I am honored to join Radiology Partners and support its physician-led mission to transform radiology,” Peterson said. “RP Clinical Services has a unique opportunity to build on a strong foundation of clinical excellence while continuing to strengthen how we support physicians, clients and patients. I look forward to working closely with the practice’s physicians, leaders and teammates to learn the business and help advance the next chapter of RP Clinical Services.”

As Chief Operating Officer, Nallamshetty will oversee operational execution across RP Clinical Services and work to align clinical strategy with performance throughout the organization.

He previously served as Chief Medical Officer of Radiology Partners and Practice President of Radiology Associates of Florida. In those roles, he oversaw operations, growth and clinical performance across hospital systems, academic medical centers and outpatient imaging networks.

As Interim Chief Medical Officer, Nallamshetty will provide clinical leadership during the search for a permanent CMO.

“At RP Clinical Services, clinical excellence and operational execution are deeply connected,” Nallamshetty said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to step into this role full time and continue working with our physicians, practice leaders and teammates to strengthen how we support our patients, clients and practices. As we look ahead, physician leadership will remain essential to how we operate, make decisions and continue transforming radiology.”

The appointments follow Radiology Partners’ recent selection of Mike Peresie as President of Mosaic Clinical Technologies, its technology and artificial intelligence division.

The company said the leadership changes are intended to improve coordination across clinical services, technology, data and operational support.
