Boston — Pediatrica Health Group said it has closed a $28 million Series B funding round to expand access to pediatric primary care and support its growth across Florida and Texas.

The funding round was led by Valspring Capital, with participation from existing investor M33 Growth. Pediatrica said the investment will support organic growth, strategic acquisitions, clinical and operational infrastructure, technology improvements and the expansion of its value-based care capabilities.

Pediatrica is a multi-site pediatric primary care organization focused on what it calls its Next Generation Care model. The company said it has grown to 21 locations across Florida and Texas since its founding partnership with M33.

“This investment reflects the momentum we have built and the confidence our partners have in our ability to reimagine, improve, and expand equitable access to pediatric primary care. Our partnership with M33 gave us the runway to prove our model and demonstrate what is possible when you remove barriers for providers and put families first. With their continued support, along with Valspring’s, we are positioned to carry that work further – reach more children, more communities, and connect more families to the quality pediatric primary care they deserve,” said Roberto Palenzuela.

“This investment translates directly into expanded access – more locations, more providers, and better resources for the families and communities we are committed to serving. The work Pediatrica is doing today is laying the foundation for a healthier next generation, and in doing so, easing the burden on our healthcare system for generations to come – this investment accelerates continued, impactful change,” Palenzuela said.

Valspring said Pediatrica fits its investment focus on growth-stage healthcare services companies.

“Pediatrica reflects our thesis that lasting change in healthcare is driven by companies that innovate on the patient and provider experience to deliver better outcomes. Roberto and his team have built something truly unique. Going beyond traditional care, their model nurtures communities and empowers providers while expanding access to high-quality, coordinated pediatric primary care for all families, including those underserved. We are proud to partner with Pediatrica and M33 to support this purpose-driven team to bring Next Generation CareSM to more communities,” said Yumin Choi, Managing Partner of Valspring.

M33, Pediatrica’s founding investment partner, will continue to play an active role in the company’s strategic development.

“From day one, we believed in Roberto’s vision for a better pediatric care experience. The growth Pediatrica has achieved is a testament to that vision and to the team’s relentless execution. We are excited to welcome Valspring as a partner and look forward to the next chapter of growth that Pediatrica is positioned to achieve,” said Gabe Ling, founder of M33.
