Landmark Bio, Syngoi Technologies Rebrand as Artis BioSolutions

San Diego — Landmark Bio and Syngoi Technologies will operate under the Artis BioSolutions name, unifying the company’s U.S. and European operations into an integrated platform for developing and manufacturing genetic medicines.

Landmark Bio, based in Watertown, Massachusetts, provides development and Good Manufacturing Practice manufacturing services, while Bilbao, Spain-based Syngoi specializes in enzymatic synthetic DNA. Artis said the rebranding connects synthetic DNA production with process development, analytics and clinical-grade manufacturing under one organization.

The company said the integrated platform is intended to reduce the reliance of advanced therapy developers on fragmented supply chains, traditional plasmid DNA and multiple vendors.

“Advanced therapies are entering a new phase, where the complexity of the science must be matched by equally advanced development and manufacturing platforms,” Artis BioSolutions Chief Executive Officer Brian Neel said. “The industry needs solutions built specifically for these therapies, not adapted from legacy systems. Bringing Landmark and Syngoi together under a single brand makes that commitment unmistakable to the partners we serve.”

Artis said customers will be able to use a single platform to move from synthetic DNA starting material through development and manufacturing.

“By bringing Syngoi’s synthetic DNA capabilities together with our development and GMP manufacturing expertise, Artis now offers a uniquely integrated platform that connects starting material with process development, analytics, and manufacturing,” Chief Business Officer Peter Stolba said. “This allows customers to streamline development, reduce complexity, and accelerate the path from starting material to commercialization.”

Artis BioSolutions was formed through the acquisition and integration of established businesses and operates facilities in the United States and Europe.

In April, Landmark Bio received an award of up to $18.3 million from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health for the TRANSFORM EV project, which is developing scalable continuous manufacturing methods for extracellular vesicle therapies.

The company has also expanded synthetic DNA manufacturing at its U.S. production facility and is growing its commercial organization to serve biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies worldwide.

Artis said its platform is designed to support cell and gene therapies, mRNA medicines, delivery systems and other advanced therapeutic technologies from gene design through GMP manufacturing.
