Santa Clara, Calif. — ValGenesis said it has concluded two ValConnect Innovation Day events in Lisbon, Portugal, and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, bringing together more than 30 life sciences organizations to discuss compliance-ready artificial intelligence, digital validation and process lifecycle innovation.

The events focused on the growing use of AI, digital validation and lifecycle management tools across the life sciences industry.

The Lisbon event featured customer presentations and peer discussions on digital transformation, digital validation and product development. Attendees discussed scaling digital validation initiatives, implementing Quality by Design and Quality Risk Management strategies, and using AI to improve validation efficiency and speed while reducing costs.

Industry leaders from Axendia, UCB, Chiesi and Hansa Biopharma also took part in discussions on how emerging technologies are changing research, manufacturing and quality operations.

At the Research Triangle Park event, attendees explored practical AI applications across validation and manufacturing operations, including cleaning validation, commissioning and qualification activities, and knowledge management.

Daniel R. Matlis, president of Axendia, delivered a keynote presentation on how life sciences organizations are moving from digital transformation initiatives toward more intelligence-driven operations.

Participants also saw a demonstration of the ValGenesis iClean application at Sequence Inc.’s pharmaceutical manufacturing training facility in Research Triangle Park. The demonstration showed how iClean digitalizes cleaning validation operations, from planning and execution to data collection, review and lifecycle management.

ValGenesis said several themes emerged across both events, including growing interest in compliance-ready AI applications for regulated decision-making, greater emphasis on data-driven lifecycle management and increased recognition of governance, transparency and human oversight as key parts of successful AI adoption.

“ValConnect Innovation Day was created to give life sciences professionals an opportunity to learn directly from their peers and share practical experiences,” said David Medina, chief marketing officer at ValGenesis. “By bringing the community together in these collaborative spaces, we ensure that our AI innovations—like those powering the iClean™ platform—are grounded in the real-world complexities our customers face every day.”
