Arlington, Va. — Surescripts has appointed Laura Moran as president and chief commercial officer, placing her in charge of a unified commercial organization covering marketing, strategy, sales and account management.
Moran brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to Surescripts, which operates a health intelligence network connecting more than 1 million prescribers, more than 60,000 pharmacies and major payers, pharmacy benefit managers, electronic health record vendors and life sciences companies.
The company provides technology supporting electronic prescribing, medication history, real-time benefit and cost information, prior authorization automation and clinical interoperability.
“Laura has the strategic depth and commercial experience to help us do more with what we’ve built,” said Frank Harvey, Chief Executive Officer of Surescripts. “Her background will strengthen how we deliver connected intelligence and drive meaningful progress toward our purpose of serving the nation through simpler, trusted health intelligence sharing.”
Before joining Surescripts, Moran served as president of global commercial at Veeva Systems. She previously spent 15 years at McKinsey & Company, where she advised global life sciences organizations.
Moran holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
“Surescripts already sits at a remarkable intersection — where prescribing, clinical history, benefit intelligence and care workflows come together,” said Moran. “My focus is on ensuring our customers fully benefit from this unique intersection, and on building the commercial organization that helps us grow from that position.”
