PITTSBURGH — ThoroughCare has partnered with Withings Health Solutions to integrate Withings smart scales into its care coordination and care management platform.
The Pittsburgh-based company said the integration will allow providers to deploy connected devices more easily, capture real-time weight data and access patient health insights for remote care programs.
Through the partnership, clinicians can prescribe Withings cellular smart scales directly to patients. The devices are designed to work without Wi-Fi setup or Bluetooth pairing. Patients step on the scale, and readings are automatically sent to care teams.
ThoroughCare said the integration is intended to support patients who may not be able to attend frequent in-person visits while helping providers expand enrollment and engagement in remote care programs.
Weight is an important clinical indicator for several chronic conditions, including hypertension, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. By integrating weight data into care management workflows, providers may be able to identify early warning signs and intervene before complications become more serious.

The companies said the integration eliminates the need for third-party data aggregators, simplifying device deployment and reducing administrative work. Automated data syncing is designed to provide accurate and timely readings, giving clinicians a more continuous view of patient health.
