Boston — Charles River Associates has appointed Christopher Zealey as Vice President in its Life Sciences Practice, strengthening the consulting firm’s capabilities in medical affairs strategy and commercialization.

Zealey brings experience in cross-functional and medical strategic planning, insight generation, scientific communications and clinical positioning.

“I am pleased to welcome Chris to CRA,” said Paul Maleh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charles River Associates. “His areas of expertise include cross functional and medical strategic and tactical planning, insight generation, scientific communication strategy, and clinical positioning.”

CRA said Zealey will support life sciences clients facing increasingly complex medical affairs, launch and product strategy decisions.

“Chris has an impressive track record of supporting medical affairs clients using clinical, stakeholder, and market insights to form actionable and measurable strategies,” said Gregory K. Bell, PhD, CRA Group Vice President and Life Sciences Practice Leader.

The company said its Life Sciences Practice has been expanding its capabilities as medical affairs takes on a broader strategic role across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

Before joining CRA, Zealey was a partner at a life sciences and pharmaceutical consulting firm, where he led engagements involving strategic and tactical planning, healthcare professional and patient insights, scientific narrative development, medical intelligence and product launch strategy.

He also worked on strategies aimed at optimizing existing commercial assets.

Zealey holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology with a concentration in Business and Policy from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Waterloo.

CRA’s Life Sciences Practice works with biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, as well as law firms, regulatory agencies and industry associations.
