Norwich, Conn. — AVS Bio has acquired Biorbyt Ltd., a global supplier of bio-reagents, antibodies, proteins and other biomaterials used in life science research.
AVS Bio, a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners, said the acquisition will expand its research product catalog and global distribution capabilities while adding Biorbyt’s ecommerce platform.
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Cambridge, United Kingdom, Biorbyt offers more than 1 million products, including primary and secondary antibodies, recombinant and native proteins, ELISA kits, small molecules and molecular biology reagents. Its customers include pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as well as academic institutions.
Biorbyt will continue operating under its existing leadership as part of the AVS Bio platform.

Malcolm Little, a Partner at Arlington Capital Partners, said the acquisition broadens AVS Bio’s product offering while adding digital commerce capabilities and scientific and commercial expertise.
