Waltham, Mass. — Mobile Heartbeat announced that its Banyan clinical communication and collaboration platform now supports private 5G networks, expanding connectivity options for healthcare organizations modernizing their communications infrastructure.
The company worked with healthcare technology partner Pixel Health to test Banyan in a private 5G environment. Mobile Heartbeat said the testing demonstrated the platform’s ability to operate over private cellular infrastructure while giving hospitals greater flexibility in choosing network technologies.
As healthcare organizations evaluate private cellular networks alongside traditional Wi-Fi, clinical applications must be able to operate across different connectivity environments.

Pixel Health worked with Mobile Heartbeat to evaluate Banyan’s performance over a private cellular network.

Healthcare organizations are also evaluating technologies including neutral-host distributed antenna systems as they seek to improve connectivity across clinical environments.
Mobile Heartbeat said the addition of private 5G support is part of its effort to provide flexible clinical communication technology that can adapt as healthcare organizations modernize their network infrastructure.
