Miami — DermaSensor Inc., developer of an AI-powered device for skin cancer assessment, said it has raised more than $5 million through a $4 million Series B extension and a community investment round that has generated more than $1 million.
The latest financing follows a $16 million Series B completed in 2025 and brings total investment in the company to $48 million. The community round is being offered through Wefunder on the same terms as the Series B extension.
DermaSensor also announced four new U.S. commercial partnerships aimed at expanding access to its device across primary care, healthcare systems and federal health programs.
The company has established an approved supplier relationship with Henry Schein, Inc.; entered a customer partnership with a large U.S. healthcare institution; formed a commercial partnership with medical device contract sales company MedTech MedCare; and selected Medical Place as its exclusive reseller to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
DermaSensor said the partnerships are intended to build a broader commercial infrastructure for nationwide adoption of its technology.

DermaSensor’s technology, originally developed at Boston University, combines Elastic Scattering Spectroscopy with artificial intelligence to provide an immediate risk assessment for suspicious skin lesions.
The company said published studies showed 96% device sensitivity across melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, while reducing missed skin cancer referrals by more than 50%.
DermaSensor said its device, commercially launched two years ago, is now used by hundreds of healthcare provider organizations and has been used to scan more than 45,000 suspicious lesions.
