Verasonics Names Richard Van Bibber Senior Vice President of Research & Development

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Verasonics, Inc. has appointed Richard Van Bibber, Ph.D., as Senior Vice President of Research & Development, where he will lead the company’s R&D organization and help advance its ultrasound research and product development strategy.

Van Bibber brings nearly 30 years of experience developing medical technologies and taking medical device products from concept through commercialization. His background includes leading engineering teams and overseeing the development of complex hardware and software systems.

“I am pleased to welcome Rich to Verasonics,” said Jon K. Daigle, CEO of Verasonics. “His extensive experience in medical technology innovation, combined with his expertise in diagnostic ultrasound, makes him a valuable addition to our leadership team.”

Daigle said Van Bibber’s experience developing new technologies will support Verasonics’ efforts to advance ultrasound innovation.

Most recently, Van Bibber served as Chief Technology Officer at Caeli Vascular and GenPrime, Inc., where he led product design, development, verification and validation activities.

He also has experience with diagnostic ultrasound technologies, including transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, intracardiac echocardiography and 3D echocardiography. His expertise includes quantitative imaging, image-guided procedures and medical device development.

Van Bibber holds a Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Physiological Science from UCLA.
