Acton, Mass. — Insulet Corporation has partnered with Calm to provide free mindfulness and emotional well-being resources for people living with diabetes, their caregivers and healthcare professionals.
The collaboration introduces The Mind in Range Collection, which includes guided meditations, a breathing exercise and a new Calm Sleep Story narrated by fashion model and Omnipod user Lila Moss, who lives with type 1 diabetes.
Insulet said the initiative marks Calm’s first integrated content partnership with a medical technology company and is intended to address the stress, anxiety and sleep difficulties that can accompany diabetes management.
“The unmet needs and daily realities of people living with diabetes shape how we innovate and who we choose to partner with,” said Manoj Raghunandanan, Chief Growth Officer at Insulet. “Living with this condition requires constant decisions, and over time that responsibility can create real stress and anxiety. Global data suggest that nearly 80% of people living with diabetes suffer burnout from the emotional strain and demands of daily management. We hold ourselves to a clear standard: do more for people while asking less of them. Partnering with Calm recognizes the emotional dimension of diabetes and expands the support we provide beyond physical outcomes.”
The collection is available through the Calm app and website. Its Sleep Story features Moss narrating a calming story intended to help listeners relax and feel supported before sleep.
The resources also include guided meditations designed to help manage stress during overwhelming moments and a breathing exercise for brief mental and physical resets throughout the day.
Insulet cited global research indicating that 66% of people with diabetes and 46% of caregivers report poor-quality sleep related to diabetes stress and anxiety.
The research also found that 62% of people with type 1 diabetes and 60% of those with type 2 diabetes want support that includes mental health and mindfulness. Among respondents who use mindfulness tools, 39% reported reduced stress, while 33% reported less anxiety and fewer sleep difficulties.
Insulet and Calm said the partnership is intended to make mindfulness resources more accessible and encourage broader discussions about mental health as part of diabetes care.
“Mindfulness can play a powerful role in improving quality of life for people living with diabetes,” said Chris Mosunic, Ph.D., Chief Clinical Officer of Calm. “By combining Calm’s expertise in this area with Insulet’s leadership in diabetes technology, we’re delivering tools and support that reduce cognitive burden and relieve emotional stress to improve mental wellness.”
The content will be promoted globally through the Calm and Calm Sleep apps and across Omnipod and Calm channels throughout the year.
