Southborough, Mass. — Veristat has appointed four executives to strengthen its biostatistics, drug development consulting and human resources operations as the global clinical research organization responds to growing demand for support in complex clinical programs.

Dr. Zhaohui Su and Dr. Gil Fine have joined Veristat’s Strategic Drug Development Advisory team in biostatistics leadership roles. Scott Tarrant has been named executive vice president and global head of the advisory group, while Clint Wolfe has joined the company as chief human resources officer.

The appointments follow Veristat’s acquisition of Certara’s medical writing and regulatory submission business and are intended to expand the company’s expertise in areas including cell and gene therapy, oncology and rare diseases.

Su will serve as vice president of statistical consulting. He began his career in academia working on clinical trials at Harvard University before holding a biostatistics leadership role at Quintiles, now IQVIA. He later built biostatistics teams at OM1 and Ontada, McKesson’s oncology technology and insights business.

“I have collaborated with many great people at Veristat over the years and jumped at the opportunity to join their team full time,” said Dr. Su. “I appreciate Veristat’s science-first approach to clinical trials and aim to blend this axiom with my knowledge and experience building teams to get investigational drugs approved faster so patients benefit sooner.”

Fine will serve as a biostatistical consultant. He has three decades of drug development experience and has held senior positions at Syntex, SuperGen, Astex Pharmaceuticals and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Oncology.

His experience includes new drug application, marketing authorization application, biologics license application and investigational new drug submissions across oncology, autoimmune diseases, pain management and rare diseases.

Tarrant brings 30 years of life sciences experience to his role leading Veristat’s global Strategic Drug Development consultancy. He previously held positions at Nalco Chemical, Therimmune and Xceleron, where he helped expand U.S. operations from a startup into a $12 million business.

Most recently, Tarrant served as chief business officer at RRD Biopharma Development, where the company grew from 15 to 50 employees.

Wolfe joins Veristat with more than 25 years of experience leading global teams at private equity-backed and publicly traded life sciences companies. He most recently served as chief human resources officer at Neovance and Endpoint Clinical Solutions, which was previously part of Fortrea.

Wolfe has also held executive positions at ArisGlobal and BioClinica and spent 16 years at IMS Health, now IQVIA.

“Veristat is building on its rich foundation in statistics, established through the leadership of Drs. Su and Fine, while adding a new global leader to help grow our consulting business under Scott. We will be well-positioned to expand globally, continue leveraging AI technologies, and apply modern approaches to complex research programs across our business,” said Kim Boericke, CEO of Veristat. “And Clint is a seasoned professional with a proven ability to seamlessly integrate acquired business units and teams, onboard the next generation of talent, and develop our team so we can continue delivering the highest support to our clients.”
