BILLERICA, Mass. — Quanterix Corp. has appointed Geoff Albrecht as senior vice president and general manager of diagnostics, a move the company said supports its effort to expand diagnostics into a larger part of its growth strategy.

The Billerica-based company, which develops biomarker technologies for research and diagnostics, said Albrecht will lead its diagnostics strategy, beginning with Alzheimer’s disease testing. He will oversee development of the infrastructure and operating framework needed to scale Quanterix’s diagnostics portfolio into a more significant revenue driver.

Albrecht will report directly to CEO Everett Cunningham and serve on the company’s executive leadership team.

“Geoff’s appointment marks a pivotal moment in Quanterix’s evolution,” Cunningham said. “We are making our Diagnostics business a fundamental pillar of our commercial strategy and future growth trajectory. We believe Geoff’s deep experience commercializing diagnostics makes him ideally suited to make Quanterix a leader in Alzheimer’s Diseases testing.”

Albrecht brings more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience from Quest Diagnostics. Most recently, he served as regional vice president for the Northeast U.S. region, where he managed full profit and loss responsibility for about $2.9 billion in revenue.

During his time at Quest, Albrecht held several senior roles, including manager, director of sales and vice president of the North Region. His work included business development, sales operations, joint venture partnerships and merger and acquisition growth strategies.

Quanterix said Albrecht’s experience includes strategic partnerships with health systems, health plans, physician outreach organizations and employer groups. The company said his background in market strategy, operational process improvement and metrics-driven accountability will support the expansion of its diagnostics portfolio.

Albrecht also served as a board member for UPMC and UMass joint venture partnerships. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova University and will be based at Quanterix’s headquarters in Billerica.
