ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Turbett Surgical has appointed Bill Gerety as chief commercial officer as the company looks to expand its global commercial operations.
The Rochester-based company, which focuses on surgical efficiency and sterile processing innovation, said Gerety will lead sales, marketing and customer success as Turbett Surgical scales from an angel-backed regional company to a private equity-funded global business.
Gerety most recently served as chief commercial officer at Solmetex LLC, where he helped lead market expansion and played a role in the company’s sale. His appointment reunites him with Kevin Danahy, president and CEO of Turbett Surgical, who previously recruited Gerety to Solmetex as vice president of marketing and sales.

Gerety has held senior marketing and sales roles at Boston Scientific, Smiths Medical and Akili Interactive. He also served as vice president of marketing at Sirtex Medical Inc. during a major acquisition.
At Solmetex, Gerety was involved in a secondary transaction and the acquisition and integration of three adjacent organizations. Turbett Surgical said his experience includes identifying market shifts and building commercial infrastructure to support growth.
In his new role, Gerety will apply what the company called a “high-velocity” growth model to Turbett Surgical’s sterile processing solutions.
