BOSTON — WHOOP is expanding its health platform with new clinical and artificial intelligence features, including on-demand video consultations with licensed clinicians through its app.

The Boston-based human performance company said the updates are designed to make its membership experience more personalized and data-driven by combining continuous biometric tracking, real-world context and clinical insight.

“WHOOP is a membership, and we take that seriously,” Ed Baker, chief product officer of WHOOP, said in a statement. “We’re always asking how we can deliver more value to our members, and these upcoming features are some of the most meaningful we’ve ever built, from bringing clinician support directly into the app to advancing our AI coaching to be more personal and actionable than ever.”

The clinician consultation feature is expected to launch in the U.S. this summer. WHOOP said members will be able to connect with licensed clinicians directly inside the app, allowing consultations to draw on months of continuous biometric data, as well as bloodwork and medical history when available.

WHOOP will also add support for electronic health record syncing through a partnership with HealthEx. The company said the feature will allow members to securely access clinical history, including diagnoses, medications and procedures, within the WHOOP app.

The company said the added clinical context will help members better understand how medications, medical conditions and procedures may affect recovery, strain and performance. WHOOP said the goal is to reduce fragmented tracking and create a more connected health experience within its platform.

WHOOP also announced two AI updates: My Memory and Proactive Check-Ins. My Memory will give members a central place to view, manage and shape the personal context used by WHOOP’s AI coaching system. Members will be able to add, edit or delete information so recommendations better reflect their goals and circumstances.

Proactive Check-Ins will use that context to provide timely recommendations, such as prioritizing sleep before an important event or adjusting training around travel.

The company also said it has redesigned the WHOOP Journal, allowing members to log behaviors, supplements and life events by voice or text. WHOOP AI will suggest new journal items based on patterns in user data, while Behavior Trends will show how specific habits influence recovery over time.

WHOOP said its product roadmap also includes deeper integrations with other apps, continued improvements to its heart-rate algorithm, better workout auto-detection and additional Strength Trainer trends and personal records.

The company said the updates reflect its broader move beyond performance optimization and into more personalized health support.
