Spire Orthopedic Partners Names Dr. Shaden Marzouk Chief Executive Officer

STAMFORD, Conn. — Spire Orthopedic Partners has appointed Shaden Marzouk, MD, MBA, as chief executive officer as the company continues to expand its orthopedic care platform.

Marzouk brings experience leading large, multi-site healthcare organizations, with a focus on scaling operations, strengthening physician alignment and expanding access to care. Spire said she has helped build and grow physician-led organizations while maintaining a focus on clinical quality and operational discipline.

“Shaden is a proven leader with deep experience across scaled healthcare organizations,” said Robert Cucuel, Interim CEO of Spire Orthopedic Partners. “Her ability to partner with physicians and grow integrated care platforms makes her well suited to lead Spire as we continue to expand and build on our strong foundation.”

Marzouk most recently served as CEO of GenesisCare, where she led initiatives focused on growth and operational performance. Before that, she was president and CEO of Care Delivery at Anthem, now Elevance Health, where she oversaw a large, diversified care delivery portfolio.

She also held senior leadership roles at AXA and Cardinal Health, with responsibilities spanning strategy, operations and clinical leadership.

Marzouk began her career as a neurosurgeon and served as a Major in the U.S. Army. She holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, an MD from St. Louis University School of Medicine, and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis. She also serves on multiple boards and advises companies in artificial intelligence and health technology.
